SERVICES
Skip hire in Vélez-Málaga and the Axarquía
We supply rubble skips and containers for building waste in Vélez-Málaga and throughout the Axarquía: we drop it off at your door, you fill it at your own pace and we take it to an authorised waste facility. Ideal for renovations, small demolitions, plot clearances and building waste.
If you also need us to do the demolition or the earthworks, we coordinate everything with the same team.
What size skip do you need?
What matters is the volume of rubble, not the size of the job. As a guide:
| Skip size | Usually enough for |
|---|---|
| 3 m³ | A bathroom or kitchen refit, a few partition walls |
| 5–6 m³ | Renovating a flat, lifting a small patio |
| 9–10 m³ | A full renovation, demolishing an outbuilding or a large slab |
If in doubt, tell us what you’re throwing out and we’ll tell you which one to order. One skip that fits is better than two half-full.
What can and can't go in
Yes
- Brick, partition walls and mortar
- Concrete and old slab
- Tiles, flooring and sanitary ware
- Soil and stone from excavation
No
- Asbestos cement sheets (uralita): these have their own legal procedure and can’t go in a normal skip.
- Paints, solvents, oils and chemical containers
- Household rubbish and organic waste
- Tyres, batteries and household appliances
Mixing in non-permitted waste makes disposal more expensive and the facility may reject the load.
A skip on the street: the permit
If the skip goes inside your property, you don’t need anything. If it goes on the public road, you need an occupation permit from the town hall, which charges a fee depending on the number of days. In Vélez-Málaga, Torrox, Nerja and the other towns the process is similar, but each has its own by-law. We’ll tell you how to do it in your case.
What the service includes
The price of a skip depends on its size, the area, how many days you need it and the type of waste. The full service includes delivery, collection and disposal of clean rubble at an authorised facility. The council fee if the skip goes on the street, extra days and any surcharge for mixed waste are charged separately. Ask us and we’ll give you a price straight away.
Skips and building work, with the same team
Often the skip is only part of the job. If you’re knocking down an outbuilding, lifting an old slab or clearing a plot, we can do the demolition, the earthworks and the rubble removal in one go. You save having to coordinate three companies and the downtime between them.

Skip hire FAQs
What people ask us most before ordering a skip.
How much does a rubble skip cost in the Axarquía?
It depends on the skip size (3, 5–6 or 9–10 m³), the area, how many days you keep it and the type of waste. It includes delivery, collection and disposal of clean rubble. The council fee for placing it on the street and extra days are charged separately. Call us and we’ll give you a price straight away.
What size skip do I need for a renovation?
For a bathroom or kitchen refit a 3 m³ skip is usually enough. For renovating a whole flat or lifting a small patio, a 5–6 m³ skip. For full renovations or demolishing an outbuilding, a 9–10 m³ skip. If you’re not sure, it’s best to tell us what you’re throwing out before you order.
Do I need a permit to put a skip on the street?
Yes, placing a rubble skip on the public road requires an occupation permit from the town hall, which charges a fee depending on the number of days. If the skip goes inside your property, you don’t need one. Each town in the Axarquía has its own by-law, so the paperwork is confirmed before delivery.
What can't go in a rubble skip?
You can’t put asbestos cement sheets (uralita), paints, solvents, oils, household rubbish, organic waste, tyres, batteries or household appliances in a rubble skip. Asbestos has its own legal procedure. Mixing in non-permitted waste makes disposal more expensive or means the facility rejects the load.
Who takes the rubble to the tip?
MURES collects the full skip and takes the rubble to an authorised construction and demolition waste facility, as the regulations require. All you have to do is fill it without going over the top and without mixing in prohibited waste.
How long can the skip stay?
How long a skip can stay depends on the service booked and, if it’s on the street, on the days authorised by the town hall. A week is normal. If the job runs on, you can ask for extra days or swap the full skip for an empty one.
