How much does it cost to excavate a cubic metre of soil?
As a guide, machine excavation costs between €8 and €25 per cubic metre in normal ground, plus VAT, not including removal of surplus soil. In rock the price rises sharply, up to €50–70/m³, because a hydraulic breaker is needed. Machine access and depth also affect the price.
How much does a digger with operator cost per hour?
A digger or mini digger with operator costs roughly €40–60 per hour plus VAT, depending on the size of the machine. Small jobs usually have a minimum number of hours plus transport of the machine. For jobs with a clear volume, a fixed price per cubic metre is easier to compare.
How much does it cost to dig a swimming pool?
Digging an 8 × 4 m pool with an average depth of 1.5 m means moving around 50–60 m³ of soil. In normal ground this costs roughly €1,000–2,000 plus soil removal and VAT. If we hit rock, the price goes up. It usually takes one or two days.
Can you excavate rock in the Axarquía?
Yes. In many parts of the Axarquía there is rock close to the surface, mainly slate and schist on the hillsides. We dig it with an excavator fitted with a hydraulic breaker. It is slower and more expensive than soil, so a trial pit is a good idea before finalising the budget for a pool or basement.
What happens to the surplus soil from an excavation?
Surplus soil is reused on your plot for backfilling or levelling whenever possible, which keeps costs down. Otherwise it is loaded onto a lorry and taken to a licensed tip. MURES includes this in the quote so there are no surprises.
Do you dig trenches for foundations and services?
Yes. MURES digs trenches for foundations, walls, drainage, water and electricity, using a mini digger where access is tight. Width and depth follow the project or utility company’s requirements, and the trench is backfilled and compacted when we finish.
